I would certainly advise offering attractive incentives to donors. It always leaves a sour taste when people just ask for free money for a profit-making business.

Jimbobklyn5 only asks for donations toward fan films which are made freely available on YouTube. Other crowdfunding producers offer varying degrees of input. But the one thing that always happens is that donors get a copy of the finished video.

Asking for cash donations and then expecting the same people to buy the finished video is just disrespectful.
