I really loved WandaVision. And Agatha was fantastic.
Going to watch the first episode of
Agatha All Along with my wife today. I'll include some of her thoughts just to provide a female perspective.
Just to clarify, if you don't like the show or have complaints, please feel free to post. This is not a positive only thread. But PLEASE do not post your political beliefs, incel takes, links to hate culture/professional victim grifters, and agenda-ism anti-woke propaganda. PLEASE do not post your left wing, diversity driven, femi-nazi, man-hating propaganda.
Please report all political posts in this thread by hitting the "!" at the top of the post.
Nudity. Sexiness. Alternate reality fanfic where the witches get naked and do stuff to each other. AI images of witches fucking. Clips of the actresses naked wearing skimpy clothing. ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED!

I'm digging it so far! It's done a good job feeling like both a continuation of Wandavision while also quickly becoming it's own thing.
It was cool getting a short glimpse of what the town is like after the hex, and the little nod to the town population showing how many people moved away was a good touch.
The Sapphic sexual energy has been off the charts and I'm loving that aspect. The show has been pretty unapologetically queer so far and that feels pretty refreshing since it's leading to some heavy sexual heat.
Seeing "teen" (

pretty sure every comic reader knows who he really is, but won't spoil it if you don't) get to be openly gay is great. Gives me hopes the rumors of his partner from the comics being introduced soon are true, although I doubt he'd be introduced here. I know it's probably out of the interest of most people on here, but I wouldn't mind seeing some male for male peril at one point.

Well, if it was DC, I would almost automatically say he's Klarion the Witch Boy since he looks an awful look like him.
But of course, this is Marvel, so it's obviously
Wiccan, the son of Scarlet Witch reincarnated from William Maximoff. Not sure why his boyfriend Hulkling would appear in this series, since he's not magical. Also, I didn't know until now that Wiccan is Jewish, that's interesting, and puts him the same category as the likes of Moon Knight and Ragman (Jewish heroes with magical powers).

What? I didn't post anything political, nor do I intend to. And, as I promised, I abandoned that other thread.
All I did was respond to Philo's speculation about who 'Teen' is in the series. And I kept the info within the spoiler brackets.
Enjoy your discussion of a wonderful TV show!

Criminy! let's not drag undue baggage across the lines and snap at people for no reason or exclude them when they haven't broken the rules. It makes for a terribly vitriolic environment. Last I checked it was perfectly frikkin' harmless to theorize and discuss where the show might go with its characters.

Seriously? let's review.
1. Shevek starts a discussion about Agatha that predictably descends into acrimony, as it was designed to.
2. MH suggests starting a new thread on the show, which jlocke does, while shevek's thread remains open.
3. Shevek volunteers to stop posting on his own thread because he's (justifiably, of course!) done with the show and moving on.
So this thread exists as a counterpoint to shevek's still existent own thread on the same show. It wouldn't even exist except for shevek's bs. it was created as an alternative space from shevek's thread. Not only that, but shevek stated he didn't care about the show. And now here he, commenting on the thread created in opposition to his own freaking thread.
I didn't snap at "people" for no reason. I pointed out that this one particular thread among the thousands on this site was one that a particular person, if they had manners and sense, would avoid posting in.

WOW! Didn't take long for this new thread to veer off topic, into personal attacks on other members without even the excuse of politics. I'd be interested if someone would tell us the premise of the show and something about it, so I can tell whether I want to watch it or not. So far I haven't gotten that from either thread.

It's a continuation of Agatha Harkness' story after the events of Wandavision. Theme seems to be centered on creepy witchcraft, with some reality/perception altering shenanigans that are different from what was going on in Wandavision but keeps some of the tone while altering it enough to make the show feel like it's own thing.
If they watched and enjoyed Wandavision I feel like there's a good chance someone will like this, unless the main reason they liked Wandavision was Wanda. This is NOT a superhero show, but it's Marvel witches which as a comic fan feels so superhero adjacent it hits most of the same beats (but for someone who isn't a comic reader/isn't into the kind of world logic that comes out of comics I can see this being a pass). So far this seems to be something that's doing it's own thin in its own corner of the MCU that isn't super tied into larger things. If the "main" story of the MCU is what brings you to Marvel projects, it's probably a skip, but I for one enjoy worlds that are large enough to have stories being told for their own sake.
As far as the sexy there's a lot of heavy sapphic heat. If that does it for you, probably worth a watch, if it doesn't you might not find anything here for you.

So long as he just talks about the show on this thread there's no call for us to be exclusionary. It's a public forum, we have to do SOME amount of tolerating everyone in here. We obviously don't have to agree with everyone, we obviously don't have to like everyone, and I'm often the first to scowl when I see something from 'the other side' trying to push something... but so long as a discussion thread remains just what it is we shouldn't attack people, that's just a different route to tanking the discussion. I get the frustration, just, idk... save it for a topic thread that needs it I guess xD.

Absolutely love the opening. It pulled me right back into WandaVision reality where I was guessing what's happening. Agnes of Westview rules. I would totally watch that. I loved Agatha as the hard boiled, bad girl detective who doesn't play by the rules. That was fucking hilarious. Wife thought she was specifically an 80's cop because of the violence toward the prisoner. I thought that was standard cop procedure. Are TV cops nicer now? I just realized I haven't watched a cop show since Reno 911. No, that's a lie, I'm 2 seasons into Brooklyn 99 but taking a break.
Aubrey Plaza as the instant nemesis federal agent was fantastic. As soon as she says, "Is this really how you see yourself?" Wife and I were both excited.

Kathryn Hahn can be hot, but she plays her nudity for comedy. I think it works. When Agatha throws her neighbor's coat off instead of hiding her nakedness, wife and I both laughed. "That's such a witch thing to do."
When Aubrey(Rio Vadal) licks Agatha's hand and heals her wound, it's pretty hot.

How is the MCU not pivoting to be about Aubrey Plaza looking at people like she wants to murderfuck them. Could make twenty movies about that.

I enjoy the references to the wizard of Oz. The road where a goal is at the end. the group and the road, the use or magical shoes like the Oz tales, multiple witches, etc.

Finally got to see episode 2 with my wife, so hard to coordinate during the week. I highly recommend this series as a date night. Also, listen to your date's opinion as if you were going to go and tell other people about it. You will get laid. At least according to my sample of 1 couple.
I find Kathryn Hahn incredibly entertaining. From Step Brothers to Parks and Rec, she rules. Agatha was an incredible part of WandaVision, I'm glad the MCU had enough momentum to even consider projects like this. Really fucking outside the box of "superhero" show. People loved that show so much Jimmy Woo who played FBI Agent Randall Parks had a meeting about potentially staring in his own show about solving X-Files type crimes. I would have loved it. Jimmy was fantastic in Ant-Man and the Wasp and WandaVision.
This episode we completely agreed the best exchange was Lilia and Agatha:
"Witches like you are the reason people think we poison apples, and steal children, and eat babies."
"Babies are delicious."

We both liked the singing scene where they're trying to conjure the road while the Salem Seven close in. I loved Agatha trying to provoke the other witches so she could steal their power.

I love the 5 sided door to the road, love the look of the Road World, thought leaving their shoes behind was weird and cool.
